This page will showcase our individual members with short bios and of course, photos. Again, thank you for your patience while we complete construction of these pages.
We like to say our local county animal shelter is not your grandfather's "pound" any more. Gone are the strict time limits and the gloomy colors and odors. Because of our wonderful volunteers, the animals get ttlc seven days a week! TTLC -- that stands for true tender loving care because what we do, we do for love. Clatsop Animal Assistance helps the shelter care for, rehabilitate, promote, and adopt out the homeless pets who come into its care. YOUR donations make this possible. Give today to CAA!
You may want to know how your donations help provide for the shelter animals. The following is a small overview of major purchases CAA has undertaken in the past: Our Spay/Neuter surgery room at the animal shelter was partially funded by donations from people who support Clatsop Animal Assistance. Equipment such as an autoclave and an anesthesia machine were provided, as well as ongoing supplies needed for the surgeries.
CAA has also provided cement and small gravel for the play yards, a microwave and refrigerator for use by staff and volunteers. We recently bought a dishwasher for the shelter's pet feeding dishes. We have also provided at one time, an industrial duty washing machine and dryer.
CAA purchased six Shor-Line stainless steel cat kennels
for the cat department. We have also supplied cat litter, food, flea, worm, ear mite medicines, veterinary visits, antibiotics, toys, grooming, water pails, food dishes, portable show and promotion kennels, adoption packets, leashes and many more miscellaneous items for the animals. We also sponsor adoption posters, newspaper ads, and a quarterly newsletter. Again, if you can help us save postage by having your newsletter emailed to you, please let us know.
Here is a photo of the stainless steel cat kennels.

How we fund Clatsop Animal Assistance
We hold several adoption events and fund raisers throughout the year, the rest of our budget comes from tax deductible donations made through this website, in person at the shelter, or at our events and fundraisers. Because we are a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation, under Oregon law, all donations to CAA are tax deductible. We provide receipts to all donors upon request.
A copy of Clatsop Animal Assistance’s budget is available upon request if you are interested in seeing how donations are spent.
Thank you for your interest in Clatsop Animal Assistance and the Clatsop County Animal Control and Shelter. By taking the time to read about us and our Mission, we know that you Care About Animals too! |
