Monthly Archives: November 2019

Diamond and Yoda are our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pets of the Week for the week of November 24, 2019.

Diamond and Yoda are a bonded pair of senior chihuahuas. Diamond is a 9 year old female and Yoda is a 7 year old male. Carrie tells us, “These little senior cuties are pretty typical chihuahuas – a bit nervous at first, cuddlers once they’ve vetted you. Diamond is a bit more reserved, and Yoda more apt to let you know his feelings quite pointedly if tired or maybe overstimulated. He seems to prefer women – or he has a crush on me. (What, a girl can dream!) Both of them have very expressive faces, and still have plenty of spring in their steps. They will walk with you for as long a stroll as you’d like to take, stopping to sniff (and do other stuff) frequently. They can sometimes seem as if they are not bonded to each other, but then quickly realign to check in with each other and walk shoulder to shoulder. They are sweet beasties who will make fine companions!”

Neko is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of November 10.

This is one special guy – Neko is a seven year old Labrador mix who is deaf but doesn’t let that slow him down. Since he has joined us, he has blossomed: a smart, spritely bundle of snow-white fur with mahogany spots. He loves our outside play yard, eagerly learning new skills and jumping in the pool while giving us his adorable, smiley head-tilt as if saying: “I’ll take that treat now…what are we going to do next?!” Neko is an expressive, sweet boy who needs a fenced yard to chase tennis balls and carouse – he loves to trot behind you and walk through your legs with his prize toy in his mouth…which is a challenge as he’s around 70lbs. He loves neck and ear rubs and dances when you scratch his back and hips. Neko would benefit from joining a family who has experience with deaf dogs. He learns hand signals quickly and is very perceptive, a real love bug waiting to meet you. He’ll need to meet any potential family members including dogs and would be happiest as the only dog in the house.

Max at home

Alex writes, “We are the family who adopted “Max” (now known as Loki). Loki has been the best thing to happen for our little family. He was the perfect match for us. This “little” puppy has grown so quickly and we can’t wait to continue watching him grow. Loki loves to play tug-of-war with his fur brother Konan and playing fetch or chasing Konan around the kitchen island. Loki is such a great family dog. He does great with our 15 month old son, Avery. He’s the on duty “lifeguard” during bath time and plays house with Avery. He’s our gentle giant ready for play or love at any second. We can’t thank you guys enough for helping making our family slightly bigger with so much more love.

With much happiness,

Alex, Evan, and Avery
