Adopted! Although these two didn’t know each other before they came to the shelter, they have been inseparable ever since Dollie decided to join Ollie in his kennel.
Diane tells us, “Our recently bonded cat couple, orange tabby Ollie and dilute tortie Dottie (or Otty and Dolly when memory fails) are still preferring to stay under covers. The cat adoption room is too busy with many cats and humans coming and going all day, but they are allowed to roam freely in the room at night when they feel safe. They found each other after arriving in adoption and have continued as a loving pair ever since, finding comfort in each other. They are both very sweet and Dottie especially likes petting and under-chin scratching. In a peaceful home after becoming settled, they will most likely relax and enjoy life.”
Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet this pair, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or deliver it directly to the shelter. Application forms are also available on the front door of the shelter and can be filled out and turned in on the spot. A shelter staff member will review the app and call you to set up an appointment. Due to Covid restrictions, only two people are allowed in the shelter at one time and each visitor is asked several health-related questions before being allowed in.
