Patty is a six year old lab/pit mix hoping for a wonderful home! Morgan says every time she’s been with Patty… “she has just been a gem and BALL IS LIFE. She adores snuggles and pets and being told how beautiful she is. Honestly, as long as she has a ball to chase and a comfy lap I think she would be the happiest dog.”
Carrie adds…”Patty is very striking with her caramel brown coat and eyes. She looks like a little tank of a dog, but her eyes – they tell me she’s a total sweetheart!”
This is one very happy go lucky dog who wags her tail at everyone she meets! We are recommending no children under twelve, however. Call the shelter at 503-861-7387 if you’d like to set up an appointment to meet her. The shelter is open 11:00 to 4:00 Tuesday through Saturday.
Sue tells us, “Sweet Lola is an adorable, classy lady. She is an American Staffordshire Terrier mix who prefers her own home with her people rather than share all that love with other dogs or cats. She came to us with little training and now walks well on leash, sits readily and gazes soulfully into your eyes trying to convince you she hasn’t been for a walk in ages.” We’ve discovered that Lola likes to pretend she’s a lap dog while hanging out with volunteers in the play area.
Lola is six years old and is allergic to grass and chicken but is not on any medication. If you’d like to meet her, call the shelter at 503-861-7387 to set up an appointment.

Carrie says…”It’s actually not difficult to understand why Rafiki is still at the shelter. You see, he is the kind of cat who seems reticent when you are first introduced to him. He doesn’t stand at the front of his cage and demand you pay him attention, but when he is given attention it is very appreciated. He’ll roll onto his back and show you his belly, he’ll nudge your hand. He is showing you he likes you and is also showing you how very sweet (and zen) he is. He is also exceedingly handsome, with unique facial markings and his black is a cape more than it is a suit coat. He’s quite small for a tom – maybe compact is a better word. Compact, too, is his tail which obviously either encountered a mishap somewhere along his five or so years or was always just a bit shorter than usual.
Rafiki came in as a stray but has obviously had human contact in his five years, is perhaps simply a little more reserved because his time in the wild. That’s speculation. Also speculation is a feeling that Rafiki in a loving home might be a much more outgoing cat. He just needs the right environment to let his inner light burst forth, and, as wonderful as the shelter is with helping animals in need, a home with play sessions, cuddle sessions, and regular meals is that much better.
Please, someone – go get this cat, open your home to him. You will not regret it!”
