PET OF THE WEEK: BANJO

Banjo is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of September 29!

Sue says…”Mr. Banjo is a sweet, dear gentleman who has captured the hearts of our volunteers. Banjo is a soft, short-haired chestnut-brown Labrador/Pit Bull mix who loves to adventure in the mountains, bask on the beach, and wander the meadow. He walks very well on leash, knows how to sit, lay down, and waits patiently for his dinner. He is particularly adorable when he curls himself up into his blanket for a nap … and only is nose pokes out- Such a pumpkin! Banjo has allergies and receives regularly scheduled baths and medication. He will most likely need medication for the rest of his life. Despite this, Banjo’s personality is low-key and chill, much preferring to hang with you in the sunbeams rather than chase tennis balls (although he’ll do that for a bit if you prefer). Banjo is not fond of cats so it’s a cat-free home for him. He would need to meet any dogs that may become his housemates. Please come meet this debonair snugglebunny – he will soon warm your heart too!”

Head on over to our Facebook page for more write-ups from his fan club at the shelter.

PET OF THE WEEK: BANJO

Banjo is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of September 15.

We are all excited to announce that Banjo is now available for adoption. He’s been at the shelter since last year, but he hasn’t been available until now because of skin problems due to allergies.

Banjo has sooo many admirers at the shelter who are pulling for him to find that perfect home where he will be adored and pampered. He loves his walks and will make a great hiking or running companion. And after that he’ll curl up to next to you for snuggle time (he likes to burrow into the blankets in his kennel or just drape them over himself while he sits and watches what’s going on around him.) He’s a champ in the car, something he’s proven over and over again on same day trips to and from the canine allergy specialist in Portland. He’s also calm and very patient during bath time.

He was the official greeter at our gala dinner last June, saying hi and getting head rubs from everyone as they came in. He eventually ended up at the CAA board member table (we couldn’t resist some under-the-table treat feeding).

Banjo is a Lab/Pit Bull mix between six and seven years old, surrendered because he has issues with cats, so he’ll need to be in a cat-free home. He may be picky about other dogs in the house and will need to have a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings at the shelter. Because of his allergies, he will most likely need medication for the rest of his life. But this affectionate boy has so many good qualities he’ll be worth the extra cost and effort.

PET OF THE WEEK: WILLOW

Willow is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of July 28, 2019.

Wonderful shelter volunteer Janet tells us…”Willow is a lady! There is no other way to explain her. She has poise, grace, and serenity. She presents with such composure and calmness. Should you spend an afternoon with a good book, Willow would consider the time well spent. Funny how she conveys wiseness. Willow would be such an asset to any home.”

PET OF THE WEEK: BOO

Boo is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of July 21, 2019.

Say hello to Boo! Boo is so popular at the shelter that he’s typically one of the first to go out with the volunteers. This friendly, easy going boy is happy to walk, play in the pool, whatever, as long as he’s out of his kennel and with one of us. Boo is a five year old Lab/Aussie mix weighing in at 49 pounds. He came to the shelter because he didn`t get along with other dogs in the household, so he’ll need to be an only dog.

PET OF THE WEEK: UKI

Uki is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of July 14, 2019.

Diane tells us, “Uki, a black and white tuxedo female, is one of the nicest cats you will ever meet. She likes to be out of her kennel most of the time so she can socialize with humans, including children, but not so much with other cats. She is especially fond of lap-sitting and petting. This cat will look into your eyes as if she can see into your soul and seems to ask you to take her home. So, if you are not afraid of falling in love, she will steal your heart.”
