Adopted!
Volunteers all tell us that while Luna is a shy girl, she is affectionate and very sweet. She is still hesitant around new people but gaining confidence every day at the shelter. When a volunteer knelt down to pet her several days ago, she even “gently placed her paws on each shoulder, leaned in and sort of hugged” her.
Luna is great on a leash, easy to walk and very curious about her surroundings. She also had lots of fun running around the play yard with another of the shelter dogs last week. You could just see her playful personality start to emerge.
Luna is a one-year-old American pit bull terrier/German shepherd mix. With patience and love she’ll settle in and gain more self-confidence. She’s worth it.

Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet her, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to ac@co.clatsop.or.us or deliver it directly to the shelter. Application forms are also available on the front door of the shelter and can be filled out and turned in on the spot. A shelter staff member will review the app and call you to set up an appointment.
