Maddie’s former family say she is a delightfully happy package of wiggles, snorts, and snores, with lots of love to give. She is always ready for an adventure, but equally okay with a lazy day by the fire. Maddie is fit and muscular, and also capable of unparalleled gentleness. Protectiveness is one of her qualities, so she will need diligent socialization and time spent to work her into new situations and with new people. Maddie is a five year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier weighing in at 54 pounds. She needs a fenced yard is not good with cats or kids, but does very well with the other dogs at doggie day care.
Dog walker Marcy adds, “I usually head straight for Maddie when I get to the shelter. She’s a calm girl and so easy to walk, definitely one of my favorites.”

Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet her, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or deliver it directly to the shelter. Application forms are also available on the front door of the shelter and can be filled out and turned in on the spot. A shelter staff member will review the app and call you to set up an appointment.
