Morgan tells us, “Prince is a special fella. He can be picky about his people and may take a minute to warm up, but once he falls in love with you he’s the best! He know sit, shake, and roll over and he will even sit pretty for you if you have yummy treats. Whoever gives prince a chance will be very lucky to have him!” This nine-year-old Dachshund/Miniature Pinscher mix is not comfortable around younger children and would be happier in a home with children 17 or older. With adults he is quite the snuggler once he knows and trusts you.

Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet him, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to ac@co.clatsop.or.us or deliver it directly to the shelter. Application forms are also available on the front door of the shelter and can be filled out and turned in on the spot. A shelter staff member will review the app and call you to set up an appointment.
