If you like to stroll along while sipping coffee, Snoopy may be just the guy for you. After an initial burst of energy, he slows down and takes lots and lots of breaks to smell the roses or whatever catches his attention. And after a walk he’s ready to settle in and cuddle.
Snoopy is an eight year old hound mix with a ton of character. Shelter volunteers say he’s “a serious sweetheart.” He’s always happy to see us and eager to head out for sniffing adventures. Snoopy gets along with cats and likes most other dogs, although he can be food aggressive. He’ll need a calm stable home with a fenced yard and children over twelve.
Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet Snoopy, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to email@example.com or deliver it directly to the shelter. Application forms are also available on the front door of the shelter and can be filled out and turned in on the spot. A shelter staff member will review the app and call you to set up an appointment. Due to Covid restrictions, only two people are allowed in the shelter at one time and each visitor is asked several health-related questions before being allowed in.
