Maxx loves being with people and really, really doesn’t want to be left in his kennel after walks and play time with the volunteers. This handsome seven-year old mini Aussie/Dachshund mix has lived in one home all his life and misses his person. He’ll be a happy boy once he knows that heading to his bed doesn’t mean being left alone.
Maxx is playful, friendly, and energetic, and he’s always eager to spend time outside with his shelter volunteer buddies. He loves poking around on the wooded trail behind the facility, checking out all the different smells back there. He’ll make a great walking companion for someone 18 or older.
Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet Maxx, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org or deliver it directly to the shelter. Application forms are also available on the front door of the shelter and can be filled out and placed in the drop box on the door. A shelter staff member will review the app and call you to set up an appointment.
