ADOPTED!
We all adore this girl and are hoping to find her a home very soon. She loves the sun (not much of that lately!) and snuggle time “including a big dose of whole body rubs and scratches” according to a volunteer who has spent lots of time with her at the shelter. Lola is always up for walks – she does well on the leash – and play time with all the volunteers. After that she’s ready to sit and watch the world go by. She’ll make a great couch buddy; she just needs a couch and a companion.
Lola is an American Staffordshire terrier mix and is about six and a half years old. She will need a home with a fully fenced yard and no cats, and she’ll need to meet any other dogs in the household since she can be picky. Lola has a few easily managed allergies, including reactions to grass and chicken. But give her salmon, fish or peanut butter treats and she will sit and shake and maybe even learn new tricks; what a good girl.

Pet meet and greets are by appointment only, so if you’d like to meet Lola, submit an application in advance by going to the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page at https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to ac@co.clatsop.or.us. A shelter staff member will review it and call you to set up an appointment. Due to Covid restrictions, only two people are allowed in the shelter at one time and each visitor is asked several health-related questions before being allowed in.
