Dottie and Ollie are our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of April 11, 2021
Adopted! Although these two didn’t know each other before they came to the shelter, they have been inseparable ever since Dollie decided to join Ollie in his kennel.
Diane tells us, “Our recently bonded cat couple, orange tabby Ollie and dilute tortie Dottie (or Otty and Dolly when memory fails) are still preferring to stay under covers. The cat adoption room is too busy with many cats and humans coming and going all day, but they are allowed to roam freely in the room at night when they feel safe. They found each other after arriving in adoption and have continued as a loving pair ever since, finding comfort in each other. They are both very sweet and Dottie especially likes petting and under-chin scratching. In a peaceful home after becoming settled, they will most likely relax and enjoy life.”

Baxter Black is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, and HITS 94.3 KRKZ Pet of the Week for the week of March 14, 2021
Adopted! Volunteers say he likes to watch out the cat room window at all the activity in the shelter lobby once he has gotten attention, affection, and love. This four year old boy likes other cats but would prefer a home without dogs.

Lola’s Road Trip – She’s now adopted!
Volunteers Natalie and Sue recently took Lola on a little adventure to get her out of the shelter, explore and have some fun. Natalie reports, “As it turns out Lola is amazing in a car! She likes to look out of the window to see where she’s headed and then she happily curls up to nap. We made sure to cover the backseat in blankets and her dog bed for an extra comfy ride.
Our first stop was Multnomah Falls. We went for a hike, sniffed around and even posed for a photo op in front of the falls. Lola was so polite to all of the other visitors and even got to play in the snow…something we don’t see very often on the coast! Lola met a family and proved again how well behaved she is with children; she used to live with kids and really likes them. A new friend offered Lola a treat, which she took very gently, as always. We kept driving and on our next walk Lola met two male dogs and walked very nicely by their side while wagging her tail. We were so proud of her good manners. Our last stop was lunch (Lola lucked out) before finally heading back home to the shelter.
One day very soon we are hoping home for Lola is with a loving family. She would prefer to curl up on a couch, in the sun if possible, with her new owner petting the top of her head as she falls asleep…that is our wish for you, dear Lola. Hopefully your next trip will be home.”

The shelter is open 11:00 to 4:00 Tuesday through Saturday. You can also fill out an application at the shelter’s Adopting a Pet page: https://www.co.clatsop.or.us/animalcontrol/page/adopting-pet. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the application.
