PET OF THE WEEK: SOLOMAN

Soloman is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of February 2, 2020

Although he’s almost twelve, Soloman has plenty of energy and enthusiasm for walks and play time. Volunteers agree this Lab/retriever mix is a strong boy but good on a leash. Here are some comments from two volunteers who have spent time with him:

Eric says, “He’s a mild-mannered pooch. He’s excited right out of the gate, but settles down into a very gentle walker. He knows his name and he knows ‘sit’. He looks back at you often and seems to be anticipating treats and seems to be very easy going.”

Natalie tells us, “Soloman wags his tail in big wide circles in excitement for a long walk! He absolutely loves a treat and stares at you with those golden brown eyes begging the question… May I have just one more treat please nice lady? Soloman’s face might be graying but his spirit is young!!”

This boy would prefer a home without cats, but has lived with another dog.

PET OF THE WEEK: KENT

Kent is our KMUN, THE ASTORIAN, 94.9 THE BRIDGE, WARRENTON KIA, HITS 94.3 KRKZ, and CLATSOP NEWS Pet of the Week for the week of January 5, 2020

This nine year old pit bull is friendly with everyone he meets and chill around the other dogs. Kent definitely looks forward to his walks with us, although he was hit by a car at some point in his life and his hips never healed properly, so slow and steady is best for him. He’ll most likely need anti-inflammatory medication as he ages, but otherwise he is low maintenance and will fit in well in any household.

We’re all hoping for a cushy forever home for you, you sweet boy.

SUCCESS STORY: LOKI

Loki was adopted early this summer and we hear he is doing very well. “On a fine June day I ventured to Warrenton to see Mr. Loki. I was totally blown away with his pic with the blue tie. I was equally happy to see him play and be friendly. He has fit in real well with the family. Max, my 18 year old cat, and Loki take naps together. Loki loves the dog park and playing with his ball. I am very happy with our new addition and pray we have a long relationship.”
